Detailed Description

Fall in the Great Bear Rainforest sees hundreds of thousands of salmon returning to their birth river to spawn. The estuaries are teaming with wildlife as grizzlies, black bears and the elusive spirit bear patrol the rivers, stunning the aging salmon with a swift slap of their massive paws, and feast along the shores on their bounty.

The lush, green trees are speckled with the white heads of dozens of bald eagles waiting for their turn at the salmon. Fat seals rest on fallen trees across the river and digest their feast. If you’re lucky, you may even be treated to a sighting of a coastal wolf pack. It’s no wonder National Geographic named Great Bear Rainforest as one of the Top 50 places to visit in the world.

Join a fall expedition and bring your camera. Guests will be spending time exploring these estuaries up close on our 10ft tender (zodiac) where you will become intimate with the areas local wildlife. Expect to see humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, otters and possibly sharks.

Often referred to as “the land of 10,000 waterfalls”, the Great Bear Rainforest can be overwhelming beautiful, with massive glacier carved inlets, towering slate cliffs (often hosting mountain goat), lush, moss covered mountains and remote hot springs to relax in. The scenery will not disappoint.

Other activities you may wish to enjoy include crabbing and prawning (optional).
