Detailed Description

Stretching inland for 40 miles, Bute Inlet is one of the most scenic waterways in the world. This glacier-carved inlet, set against glacier-topped mountains rising 9,000ft above sea level and with water depths of 2,500 ft, is astounding and humbling. Cruising further into the inlet, massive waterfalls wind their way down from glaciers, painting the ocean a brilliant turquoise.

Guests will have numerous opportunities to explore grizzly estuaries in our 10ft tender (zodiac). You may also see sea lions, seals, eagles, white-sided dolphins, black bears, pacific porpoises and coastal wolves.

Winding our way through the inside passage, we will cruise through the BlackFish Sound, home to the largest population of resident pod orcas on the West Coast. It is not uncommon to see up to 30 orcas in combined pods. Humpback whales are also in abundance here, feeding in the eddies of the strong tidal currents. It is not unusual to see as many as 20 humpback whales in a day.

With activities like salmon fishing, prawning and crabbing, guests will learn about local seafood and get to enjoy gourmet cuisine along the way. All food is locally sourced and paired with B.C. wines and local craft beer.
